Many people who believe abortion rights should be taken away from women believe that the fetus (the premature baby) is almost like a living child outside a mother's stomach. They believe that having an abortion is murder.
Being able to get an abortion is basic healthcare for all girls and women. Each year over 70 million women have unwanted pregnancies, and the impact of these pregnancies depends on the women's health and state of being.
Women seek getting an abortion in places that are unsafe, and not healthy for them or their child. Women seek abortions in unsafe places when they don’t have the money or health to keep their babies safe. Also to keep themselves safe as it could be life-threatening to the mother if they are not in a healthy condition. Women who aren’t financially stable can get unsafe abortions or can’t get an abortion at all and that can lead to them dying. Unsafe abortions have led to 70,000 women's deaths annually, which touches on women's right to life.
People are also trying to ban a pill called Plan B. Plan B is a pill to get rid of a baby very early on in a pregnancy. Many people will try to take a plan B pill as soon as they find out they are pregnant, or even before they know for sure. Plan B will most likely be banned, many people are trying to stock up on this pill.
Taking away the right for women to have an abortion has the effect of denying a woman access to a procedure that may be necessary for her health and her enjoyment of life. If a woman cannot get an abortion they could suffer from maternity-related injuries, such as hemorrhage or obstructed labor. Denying women access to medical services that enable them to regulate their fertility or terminate a dangerous pregnancy amounts to a refusal to provide health care that only women need.
